What are eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions are a cluster of synthetic hairs that can be attached one by one to the natural lash of the eyes to make it look fuller, longer and more beautiful. Special glue is used to bond the extensions to the natural lashes.

Why should I get eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions make your eyes bigger and more noticeable, emphasizing their beauty and expressions. It cuts down on your beauty regimen time because it eliminates the need for mascara or even eyeliners. You also, won’t have to worry about running or streaking mascara in case you have to have a cry. It is generally safe and non-invasive. Unlike false eyelashes, it will not prevent you from doing physical activities like swimming and heavy workouts. It makes you look hip and confident with only minimum maintenance.

How long does an eyelash extension take?

The application has to be done carefully and meticulously so allow for approximately 1 and ¼ hours for a full set of lashes. That is around 45 minutes for a half set and roughly 1 hour for the in-fill. The application itself should be done patiently and precisely so as to appear natural.

Will my own lashes fall out because of the extensions?

No., there is no danger at all that your own lashes will fall out. We have been doing eyelash extensions for years now and our clients come back repeatedly for this service with no complaints of falling eyelashes at all. It is highly important that you go to a professional consultant to be assured of quality products and correct attachment and removal. The natural eyelashes, after all, will fall off if pulled hard enough. You will have to wait 6-8 weeks before it will regrow and support eyelash extensions.

How long do they last?

You can have thick, luscious eyelashes for approximately 2-4 weeks if you are careful with them. Your natural eyelashes have 25-28 days life span, so when they fall off, the extensions attached to them will also fall off. Your lifestyle will also affect the length of time you will have the extensions.

Can I continue wearing eye makeup?

Yes, you can. Eyeliners and eyeshadows will not damage your extensions as long as they are not oil-based. Oil might affect the glue and so avoid using make up removers that contain oil of any kind. Remember to remove eye make-up on an upward stroke to prevent residual make-up build-up on the eyelashes. This may reduce the effectiveness of the glue.

Can I wear mascara?

Yes, but you may find that you do not need it anymore because of the added length and volume that the eyelash extension gives to you lashes. You won’t need to deal anymore with running and streaking mascara. Very convenient for those occasions, which can get you teary eyed like weddings. You can put mascara on your lower lashes but as much as possible use only waterproof mascara and remove with a non-oil based remover.

Why do some eyelashes fall off after only a few days of them being attached?

We lose 3-5 natural lashes everyday and not notice them at all, except maybe when they fall into our eyes. You are only more aware now of your eyelashes falling because, they are more noticeable in length, color and thickness. There could be a number of reasons why they fall off which has nothing to do with their quality. Vigorous physical contacts on the extensions, like pillows or towels for example might cause them to fall off.

Do I have to get a full set of eyelash extensions?

How do I take care of my eyelash extensions?

There are things that you have to remember when you have eyelash extensions for the first time. Allow at least 12 hours for the glue to dry before getting them wet. Do not go to a sauna or any hot steamy place for the first 48 hours. Keep them protected from tugging or rubbing to give them a longer life span. Avoid crimping, curling, tinting or perming them with your regular eyelash curler. The less you touch them, the longer they will last. However, remember to keep proper hygiene when it comes to your eyes to prevent infections. You can get them wet so you don’t need to refrain from washing your face. Just remember to be careful when you towel your face dry.

If you are one of those people with fair eyelashes, we advise that you tint them at least 48 hours before your appointment.
